Nino on the ice
A free colouring page — A penguin standing on a floe with a fish going past underneath.
Free to print at home, at nursery or anywhere else. No sign-up, no email.
What is going on here
The ice is an angular slab under Nino's feet, the sea is drawn as rows of waves, and a fish swims across the bottom right. The penguin's own front panel is the biggest pale area.
What is in the picture
Dark water and light ice make the picture read properly. Say it once at the start and the rest follows.
Colouring it with a toddler
Few areas, all of them large. Good for a child who wants to be done quickly.
Thick crayons beat pencils at this age — they need no grip strength and they do not break when a child leans on them. A scene has more in it than a single animal, so expect it to be done over two sittings rather than one.

Colour on screen instead
The same characters are in the PlayKiko colouring game, where tapping an area fills it and nothing goes outside the lines. Useful on a train, where crayons are a mistake.
