What is going on here
The hill is one large curved shape taking up the bottom third of the page, with grass on it and Rara sitting on top. His mane is a ring of separate rounded petals.
What is in the picture
Alternating two colours around the mane is the single thing that makes this page look finished rather than coloured in.
Colouring it with a toddler
The hill is the largest unbroken area in the set — good for a thick crayon.
Thick crayons beat pencils at this age — they need no grip strength and they do not break when a child leans on them. A scene has more in it than a single animal, so expect it to be done over two sittings rather than one.
