About PlayKiko
A calm place for a one to four year old to play, with nothing in it that pulls at them.
What is inside
PlayKiko is a play world built around Kiko the cat and a cast of hand-drawn animal friends. The games fall into two kinds. Some are for winding down: bubbles that pop to reveal an animal, a blank page to scribble on, pictures to colour, a busy board full of switches and bells, and a dancing stage with a dozen scenes, each with its own song.
The others quietly build early skills. Sorting rings by colour and by size, matching a number to a group of animals, fitting shapes into the one gap that suits them, tracing a path through a maze, finding the shadow a picture belongs to, joining two halves until an animal appears.
There is no advertising, no account to make and no subscription. The app collects nothing and makes no network calls at all, which is why it works exactly the same on a plane as it does at home. A single one-time purchase unlocks the games that are not free from the start, and the purchase screen, the settings and every outgoing link sit behind a parental gate.
What is next
More games, more scenes inside the games that already exist, and more languages. The app currently speaks English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
If something is broken, confusing, or your child found a way to do something they should not have, I want to hear about it. That kind of message is the most useful thing anyone sends me.
