What is going on here
Kiko sits in the middle with a flower on each side, a butterfly overhead and the sun in the corner. Everything is drawn large and open — the flowers have five round petals each, which children tend to colour one at a time.
What is in the picture
The two flowers are the obvious place to start: big areas, and nothing bad happens if the colours end up different.
Colouring it with a toddler
A good first scene. Plenty to fill, nothing narrow.
Thick crayons beat pencils at this age — they need no grip strength and they do not break when a child leans on them. A scene has more in it than a single animal, so expect it to be done over two sittings rather than one.
Who is in it
Colour on screen instead
The same characters are in the PlayKiko colouring game, where tapping an area fills it and nothing goes outside the lines. Useful on a train, where crayons are a mistake.
