Pip and the fallen apples
A free colouring page — A hedgehog, two apples on the ground and leaves coming down.
Free to print at home, at nursery or anywhere else. No sign-up, no email.
What is going on here
Pip keeps his spiny cap and the berry on top. Three large leaves float in the air and two apples sit on the grass, each with a stalk and a small leaf of its own.
What is in the picture
The leaves have a line down the middle, which turns each one into two areas and lets a child try two shades without being told to.
Colouring it with a toddler
Autumn page. Reds, oranges and browns, if anyone asks for suggestions.
Thick crayons beat pencils at this age — they need no grip strength and they do not break when a child leans on them. A scene has more in it than a single animal, so expect it to be done over two sittings rather than one.

Pip Colour on screen instead
The same characters are in the PlayKiko colouring game, where tapping an area fills it and nothing goes outside the lines. Useful on a train, where crayons are a mistake.
