Nunu and the candy canes
A free Christmas colouring page — An elephant beside two striped canes, both taller than they look useful.
Free to print at home, at nursery or anywhere else. No sign-up, no email.
What is going on here
Two candy canes stand in the snow on the right, hooks facing each other, with stripes running down them. Nunu stands on the left, trunk curling as it always does.
What is in the picture
The stripes turn each cane into a row of narrow bands, and they are meant to alternate — the one page here where skipping every other stripe is the whole trick.
Colouring it with a toddler
Show them the first two stripes, then let them carry the pattern down. Most children get it immediately.
Thick crayons beat pencils at this age — they need no grip strength and they do not break when a child leans on them. A Christmas scene has more in it than a single animal, so expect it to be done over two sittings rather than one.

Colour on screen instead
The same characters are in the PlayKiko colouring game, where tapping an area fills it and nothing goes outside the lines. Useful on a train, where crayons are a mistake.
