Momo the panda

- Round, slow, never in a hurry
The panda, built almost entirely out of circles, and always a little behind the beat.
Who Momo is
Momo is the panda, built out of circles almost entirely. He is in the mazes collecting stars and in the dancing scenes, where he is always slightly behind the beat.
He is drawn the same way everywhere he appears, with the same colours and the same face, so a child learns to recognise him quickly. That matters more at this age than anything he actually does on screen: a familiar face behaving predictably is what makes a screen feel calm rather than loud.
Colour Momo in
This is the page that teaches a pattern. The ear patches, the eye patches and the limbs are all meant to be the same colour, and a child who works that out will do them in a run rather than one at a time.
Momo colouring page
Ask which parts "belong together" before starting. For a three-year-old, that question is most of the learning on this page.
The rest of the cast
Momo and the rest of them live in a world of gentle games for ages 1–4.
